  • There may be a problem with the Windows 10 WiFi adapter driver, LAN connection adapter, and Windows 10 wireless network connection adapter – this problem can affect your WiFi and Ethernet connection. The cause may be your antivirus, so you may need to disable or remove it.

Well, here in our case we are about to discuss the issues with the drivers of Wi-Fi adapters on Windows computers.

Method 1: Run the Troubleshooter

  • Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
  • Here in the settings application, go to the Update and Security section. Choose Troubleshoot. 
  • In the right pane, select the additional troubleshooter option.
  • Here, from the list of troubleshooters, find the Internet Connection and click Run the troubleshooter. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.

Method 2: Update the Drivers

Updating the drivers is a very effective method for fixing issues with drivers and devices that are associated with the computer. With the driver being updated newer versions of the files get installed and any missing or corrupt files will be replaced allowing the driver to function properly.

  • To update the drivers, search for device manager in the search option in the taskbar.
  • Here, in the device manager, find the Wi-Fi adapter driver and then right-click on the option.
  • Now, select the update driver option and then select the automatically update drivers option and let the system download and install the drivers.

Method 3: Run the NETSH Command

  •  Press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • There could be an issue with the network card
  • Run the following commands:
    • netsh winsock reset catalog
    • netsh int ip reset reset.log hit.
  • Once the commands are done running, check whether the issue is resolved.

Method 4: Reinstall The network driver

  • Press Windows Key + X and select Device Manager from the list.
  • There may be some issues with the WiFi adapter driver.
  • Locate your network driver, right-click it, and select Remove device. There may be some issue with the Windows 10 WiFi adapter driver
  • Check the option to remove the driver software for this device.
  • Click the Delete button to confirm.
  • Click the Scan for hardware changes icon and Windows will automatically install the default drivers.

Method 5: Restore your System

  • Press Windows key + S and type system restore.
  • Opt for the Create a restore point option from the list. There may be a problem with the wireless adapter driver.
  • Click the System Restore button and Next.

  • Locate the Show more restore points option and then enable it. Select the desired restore point and click Next.
  • Follow the process mentioned in the wizard and proceed further.

Method 6: Change the Network Properties

  • Click on the network icon in the taskbar and select Network.

  • Select the change adapter option. There may be a problem with the network card
  • Right-click on the network connection option and choose Properties from the menu.
  • Here select the properties mentioned below:
    • Client for Microsoft Networks
    • File and Printer sharing for Microsoft Networks
    • QoS Packet Scheduler
    • Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
    • Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
    • Link-Layer Topology Discovery Responder
    • Link-Layer Topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver
  • Now, simply click on the apply button and then on the OK button to save the changes you have made till now.
